This beautifully illustrated book, designed for children ages 5-8, tells the heartwarming journey of WB, a young protagonist learning a profound life lesson: the most fulfilling life is one that recognizes the worth and importance of others. Initially, WB is somewhat unaware of those around him, but with the gentle guidance of his wise grandfather and a magical sweater, his perspective begins to change.
When WB puts on the sweater, he feels transformed – like a superhero with newfound confidence and pride in who he is. But his true superpower isn’t the sweater; it’s the kindness and care he shows to others. Along the way, WB faces challenges: classmates who scoff at his compassion and question his acts of goodwill. Unshaken, he helps a girl being bullied, lends a hand to a boy struggling with his backpack, and assists a child on crutches. His heroism shines until, while rescuing a cat from a tree, he tears his sweater and believes he’s lost his powers.
In a touching climax, WB learns a transformative truth: being a superhero isn’t about the sweater at all; it’s about believing in himself and acting with love and empathy. With this realization, he reconciles with his critics, and the story concludes with a powerful reminder of the immense impact of small acts of kindness, mercy, and forgiveness – the true marks of a hero.

“Who is WB?”
WB embodies every child, every young person who has yet to fully encounter the challenges and complexities of the world around us. WB represents all children striving to belong and find their place at home and in school.
WB stands for each child who will soon come to realize that their life has purpose, that they can make a positive impact on their own lives and in the lives of others. Their choices, and the understanding that they hold the power to make them, will shape who they become and what they contribute to the world.
The initials “WB” are not as important as the message they carry. WB can represent the initials of any child’s name, symbolizing all children and young people as they learn the value of doing good for others. Every child is unique. WB is simply a tool I’ve created to inspire kindness and good deeds in our children. But this book alone cannot teach these lessons—only you, the guides and examples in their lives, can truly bring them to life.
I hope you will choose to play a part in helping the WBs of the world become all they can be, one good deed at a time!
With sincere appreciation,
WB
